My Ride, Nothing too special.

Postby Andrew4180 » Mon Jan 06, 2014 11:59 am

My Ride is a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe, has a 383ci Stroker Motor built by Stallings Race Engines in Katy, Texas. Exner 2-speed Powerglide transmission, gm 10 bolt rear end with Richmond 4.56 rear gears, Hoosier 30x10.5 drag slicks, Goodyear 25x4.5 front runners, weld dragstar wheels, 6in cowl hood, and the interior is gutted, full out drag car, haven't run it in almost 2 years due to an engine rebuild, cant wait to see what it runs in the 1/4 at the end of the month. I built this car with the help of 3 friends for the 2012 race season when I outgrew jr dragsters, and it never did run right, we didn't tear the motor down even though it sat in a buddys backyard for 7 years, and it had a blown head gasket on the right bank of cylinders and was only firing on the 5 that weren't filled with water, and still managed a 13.37 at 105mph at Royal Purple Raceway. After that, it sat for a while due to not having the funds to finish the rebuild. But now its finished, season starts on the 15th of February, ready to race again, been way too long.

We've got a meet coming up next Saturday at Texadelphia on 6025 Westheimer Road from 2pm - 5pm. Maybe you can make that one!

I'll be out at Texadelphia this weekend it should be a nice day.
I would like to see your car. It's only 1 year older than mine. :)
If it breaks, make it stronger.
If it doesn't, try harder.

I apologize for not getting back real quick, the car is on a lift right now having some differential work done and putting new brakes on the back, and my truck grenade a transmission so that makes it a tad hard to haul around. lol
